Start your day immersed in connection, movement and place with our South Parklands Morning Tour, an inspiring exploration of therapeutic landscapes in action. We begin with a guided visit to the Secateurs Community Garden at St Andrews Hospital, where you’ll experience how shared spaces cultivate belonging, wellbeing and community connection.
The journey continues with a tranquil exploration of the Himeji Gardens, where thoughtful design, cultural expression and sensory experience come together to support reflection and calm. Whilst there, ease into an outdoor Tai Chi session, offering a moment to slow down, ground yourself and connect with nature through gentle movement, embodying the principles of therapeutic horticulture in practice.
We conclude at the Walyu Yarta Community Garden, a vibrant and evolving space that showcases the power of community-led growing, cultural connection and inclusive practice. This guided morning offers a rich, multi-layered experience, connecting people, plants and place while bringing the conference theme Growing Connections to life.

Immerse yourself in design, philosophy and connection in our Afternoon Tour, a curated journey through some of Adelaide’s most inspiring garden spaces. We begin the tour at the Diggers Shop in the centre of the Adelaide Botanic Garden, where you’ll hear first-hand about the Diggers philosophy and their involvement in the SA Nature Festival, a collaborative movement of more than 200 community groups and organisations.
From here, enjoy a guided walking tour with the Botanic Gardens Education Coordinator. You will have the opportunity to explore the Garden through a lens of wellbeing, and experience how the Botanic Gardens strengthen people's connection with nature. The Botanic Gardens provide a space for meditation, reflection and engagement; and weave these into the Learning and Nature-based wellbeing programs to deepen your connection with nature and garden-based activities.
This afternoon experience brings together horticulture, design and storytelling, capturing the essence of Growing Connections through plants, knowledge and shared experiences.
